Extra Credit Opportunity: International Pen Pals
The Chengdu Foreign Languages School Advanced Placement Center (located in Chengdu, China) is a school that prepares Chinese students to attend university in the United States and other Western nations. Students are very keen to practice conversational English and learn more about American culture. This opportunity will also provide YOU with insight to life outside of the States, and will help breed international communication and collaboration. If you are interested, please speak to Miss Mainiero. Once students have returned from Chinese New Year Break we hope to begin the exchange. To earn the extra credit, you must actively and appropriately engage in email communication with the student over the designated time frame.

About miss Mainiero
Hi, my name is Miss Laura Mainiero! I am a Lehigh Valley native and an IUP graduate ('08). I have spent the last 7 years teaching 9th and 10th grade in the Allentown School District, and I am very excited to begin teaching 10th grade English and PerformanceTheater at Liberty!
In addition to loving reading and writing, I have a passion for traveling, mud runs, and baking. This past summer, I visited Vietnam with my graduate program to further study global education. I look forward to adding more stamps to my passport in the future! One of my other loves is my three year old dachshund-yorkie pup named Neville Longbottom (Harry Potter nerd alert).
I look forward to learning more about my students in the 2015-16 school year!
